East Granby is a small town with many historic sites that has become a vital community located midway between Hartford and Springfield, MA and situated in the lovely Farmington, Pioneer, and Heritage Valleys of Connecticut. You'll find wild turkeys, deer, and even an occasional bear in the rolling hills near the Old New-Gate Prison, once a copper mine and now a National Historic Landmark. |

Bradley International Airport (BDL) - Located in Neighboring Windsor Locks, CT, Bradley Airport is the largest airport in Connecticut, and the second largest in New England. Flights from Bradley serve most large U.S. cities, as well as Canada. In July 2007, Northwest Airlines plans to begin direct service from Bradley to Amsterdam. |

New England Air Museum - The museum features aircraft from the earliest days of aviation to the jet age, and is situated in three large display buildings consisting of more than 75,000 square feet of exhibit space. In fair weather, the outside storage yard is available for touring as well. A "must see" for aviation buffs and families alike. |

Newgate Prison State Historic Site - Originally used as a copper mine, in 1773 the Colony of Connecticut began to use the abandoned tunnels as a prison. It was used to house prisoners during the American Revolution, and in 1790 became the state prison. Closed as a prison in 1827, Old New-Gate has primarily been used as a tourist attraction since the 1860's |

Farmington Valley Greenway - The Farmington Valley Greenway is a 26-mile multi-use trail running through five towns of Central Connecticut with connections to many more miles of walking and biking trails. It is a ten-foot wide, wheelchair accessible trail designed for walking, jogging, biking, inline skating and other activities, including travel to work and school. Motorized vehicles are not allowed. |

The Hartford Civic Center - The Civic Center serves as the home of the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, as well as the off-campus home of the UConn Men and Women's basketball teams.
